Since July 2026 I am a postdoctoral researcher in Johanna Pirker‘s N-Dimensional User Experience group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), working at the intersection of games, immersive technologies and human-computer interaction with a focus on perception and accessibility. I remain affiliated with LMU Munich and the Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML). My research centres on understanding and predicting gaze behaviour using eye tracking, virtual reality, and machine learning. I develop VR simulations of visual impairments, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, and cataracts, to study their effects on eye movements and task performance. The goal of this work is to enable early detection of visual impairments and to develop adaptive assistance systems for affected individuals. As a member of the ASPIRE network, an international consortium of HCI and XR researchers spanning LMU Munich, the Institute of Science Tokyo, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon and the University of Copenhagen, I connect this work to a broader agenda on embodied, body-aware interactive systems that link preventive health with next-generation XR.

I defended my PhD in October 2025 at the LMU Media Informatics Group under Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt and Prof. Dr. Sven Mayer, on gaze behaviour analysis and prediction. Key contributions include a blink artifact preprocessing pipeline validated on 11 public datasets and real-time central field loss detection models. During my PhD I taught courses on Intelligent User Interfaces and Applied Machine Learning for HCI, and I continue to supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students on topics related to eye tracking, VR, and machine learning.

From April to July 2025, I was a visiting researcher in Prof. Hideki Koike’s lab at the Institute of Science Tokyo, working on gaze-intent prediction and initiating ongoing work on full-body interaction in virtual reality using in-sole pressure sensors. Before my PhD, I received my M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from Utrecht University (2019) under the supervision of Prof. Christian Janssen, and my B.Sc. in Software Engineering from NHL Hogeschool (2016).
